NDGSA Coach Certification Training

Nearly all (95%) of our coaches are parent volunteers and we greatly appreciate their dedication and enthusiasm. NDGSA encourages all of its coaches to participate in certification training and is happy to fully pay for all of their training.

Preseason Coach Training and Help on the Field

  • Preseason training sessions are offered in April & May. These training courses are recognized nationwide and comprise full day or full weekend sessions. Some courses are offered in the NDG area.
  • Every May, we hold 2 sessions specifically targeted to each of the following age categories – Novice (players 4-6), Minifield (players 7-10) and Fullfield (players 11+). These sessions are in-depth (2 hours each) and are a combination of theoretical and practical information with a Q&A period as well where coaches can address specific questions or issues they may have.
  • In addition, our Recreational technical staff is always available to assist our coaches through the following activities:
  • First two weeks of the soccer season: Our technical staff is on the field to assist and offer technical direction to our Novice coaches. These enthusiastic parent volunteers are often coaching for the first time and so our Association offers them this extra support to ensure their teams get off to a great start.
  • On-field team practice visits: Our technical staff will visit recreational teams during their scheduled practice sessions throughout the season to work with the coaches and players directly.
  • Coaches for both our recreational and competitive teams have the opportunity to play in the senior division for free. This is another way we thank them for their dedication and generosity.
  • Come and see us at registration for more information.

CRSA’s Le Méga Stage is held in April at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex.
